Theodore S. Chaconas is a senior advisor at Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell (CBM) with more than 55 years of experience of public accounting experience. His expertise includes taxation especially in areas related to estates and trusts. Before joining CBM in November 2018, he was a founding partner of Chaconas & Wilson, P.C., a Washington, DC-based accounting and advisory firm from 1986 until 2018. Under his helm and that of co-founder Joe Wilson, the firm expanded its areas of expertise to serve not-for-profit organizations, professional service firms, businesses and individuals.
Previous to his work with Chaconas & Wilson, Ted served as a partner at Virginia-based accounting firm, Matthews, Carter & Boyce and at Leopold & Linowes.
Ted has been active in the community throughout his career, having served as president of the Rotary Club of Washington during the 1990s as well as on the boards of a number of other groups. He currently holds emeritus status with the American Institute of CPAs.
