Paula B. Ellenberg, CPA, CVA, MST understands that individuals want to protect and preserve as much of their wealth as possible for family members and loved ones. The significant and rapidly changing rules and regulations affecting trusts and estates requires constant attention to detail. With more than 30 years of experience she has become a trusted resource for Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell clients. In addition to preparing and consulting with clients on their estate and trust tax compliance engagements, Paula has assisted trustees and their legal counsel in the supervision and preparation of fiduciary accountings.
Paula has earned the Certified Valuation Analyst designation from the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. Over the past 25 years, she has prepared and supervised valuation engagements for estate and gift tax purposes and succession planning as well as assisting in the preparation of shareholder agreements.
In representing taxpayers before federal and state tax agencies, Paula works to ensure the best possible outcome and to make sure that her clients thoroughly comprehend their choices and takes the time to explain the situation in simple, plain language. Paula’s career in taxation has included small businesses, high net worth, high income individuals, not-for-profit organizations, employee benefit plans, and corporate taxation, including complex multi-state tax engagements.
When she’s not assisting clients, Paula enjoys her Zumba classes, gardening and the art of macrame.
