Norah Jones is a senior auditor with CBM – Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell, P.C. with four years of experience in attestation and assurance services for not-for-profit organizations. Her responsibilities include preparation of financial statements, analysis of financial statement variances, compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and tax compliance for the firm’s not-for-profit clients, including reporting unrelated business income tax.
Norah spent the first 6 years of her career working for a multinational corporation, where she managed entities in the U.S. and Japan. She specialized in every facet for the development of new outlets including, hiring and training operation managers, as well as quality control for entities in Hawaii, California and Tokyo. Norah counseled the C-level executives on the financial health of the entities, and maintained tax compliance of the entities for both the U.S. and Japan.
Norah joined a local CPA firm in Los Angeles, where she matured her focus in tax compliance services for businesses and individuals, while developing proficiency in public accounting.
Subsequently, Norah joined CBM as staff accountant in 2014, and specialized in accounting services for not-for-profit organizations. She has extensive experience in evaluation of internal controls, preparation of financial statements and disclosures accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), variance analysis, and preparation of information returns for not-for-profit organizations.
Norah is a Certified Public Accountant in Maryland and a Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional (CNAP).
