Peter Reilly, Debbie May and Jeff May participated in the Annual Charitable Golf event to benefit he local chapter of the Financial Planning Association (FPA). The association’s objective is to increase financial literacy and benefit the public by helping to ensure that financial planning delivered through proficient and ethical financial planners.
This charity event has been in place for well over 25 years. It’s a great community of professionals and the financial planning scholarships that are offered do a great service for the community.
Debbie felt inspired to participate because of her proficiency in financial planning and golf. She wrote an article for the Business Journal almost 30 years ago about the need to teach our youth about financial literacy and now it’s popular in discussion. Her passion for golf began while having children and a busy work life.
Debbie says, “it’s just a game at the end of the day and just enjoy the beauty of the sport. It’s a great way to get to know someone and have great conversations.”
It was a beautiful spring day for the 84 golfers who played on Thursday, June 24 at 1757 Golf Club. CBM donated $1,300 with a total of well over $12,000 for the Foundation of Financial Planning.
