"It’s easy to get into a routine of “this is how’s it done, this is how we do it every month,” so I help clients see their numbers differently to find efficiencies and opportunities. "
Jessica Rose constantly tries to create opportunities for clients to grow their businesses by providing insights into their financial operations to make more strategic decisions for the future.
A senior manager and co-director of of client accounting and advisory services at Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell (CBM), Jessica is proficient in various accounting software, particularly as a QuickBooks ProAdvisor and a certified Bill.com expert, which allows her to help clients in the not-for-profit, construction, professional services, and healthcare industries accurately maintain financial records.
But Jessica doesn’t just provide a monthly or quarterly report full of numbers. She puts on her advisory hat to help clients navigate their financial statements to monitor and evaluate KPIs to go deeper. That includes comparing numbers to the prior year, month or quarter to understand how and why revenue and expenses are trending, to identify new efficiencies and opportunities and provide recommendations as applicable.
Before joining CBM in 2014, Jessica spent eight years working for a small accounting firm in Salisbury, Maryland, where she rose from a receptionist position to a staff accountant.
Jessica, her husband and their son, who now live in Georgia, frequently travel back to her home state of Maryland to enjoy family and seafood (as long as they can find someone to care for their two dogs, cat and eight ducks). They also spend a lot of time on the Gulf beaches of Florida, though anything with white sand and crystal blue water makes Jessica happy. While she doesn’t get to enjoy time painting and reading as much as she’d like, Jessica is a hopeless romantic who loves a good Nicholas Sparks novel.
