"Being easily accessible and proactive with clients is key to helping them achieve their goals. If I can’t provide the best answer, I won’t give up until I find it. "
Gemma Coronado, CPA, is curious by nature. It’s a trait that’s served her and her clients well as a senior manager with Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell (CBM), where she focuses on audit and assurance engagements, primarily for not-for-profits.
Although she enjoys coordinating, supervising and reviewing audit engagements, and analyzing financial statements, her favorite part of the audit process is reviewing internal controls to see how different not-for-profits operate. It allows her to really understand and work with her clients, as this phase opens the door to uncover inefficiencies and recommend potential solutions.
Above all else, she strives to be easily accessible and proactive with clients. If she can’t provide the best answer, she won’t give up until she finds it.
Gemma, who’s been with CBM since 2006, works primarily on audits of charitable organizations and trade associations. Her experience also includes performing compilation, reviews, Single Audits, system and organization control (SOC) engagements and agreed-upon procedures, as well as the preparation of IRS Forms 990 and 990T.
Gemma is just as busy at home by taking walks with her two children and finding time to bake cupcakes with her four-year-old. Gemma enjoys traveling with her family to visit her in-laws in Cleveland
