A team of colleagues from Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell (CBM) joined the Rock Creek Conservancy on Saturday morning, July 13 for a clean-up initiative in Washington, DC’s Rock Creek Park. Eight community service-motivated CBMers, joined by friends and family members, worked hard for nearly two hours to clear English ivy from around the bases of nearly 75 trees, filling 25 garbage bags in the process. English ivy can block sunlight, damage bark and lead to fungal rot to accelerate the death of trees, leading to a need to remove it from the area around other plant life.
The Rock Creek initiative was developed by CBM’s community impact committee, which develops service events throughout the year for team members to give back to their communities.
Thanks to all who participated with the Rock Creek Conservancy for being an important part of CBM in the Community! We appreciate your support. The next event will be a food drive in August.
