Dan Keefer, CPA, CVA, a partner at Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell, has graduated from the Upstream Academy’s Emerging Leaders Program. The program, which develops future leaders in the accounting profession through a rigorous, year-long period of instructor-led trainings, dialogue and the hands-on application of new knowledge, engages participants on the most pressing issues facing the industry.
“The Emerging Leaders program broadened my understanding of what it means to be a leader in the accounting world today,” said Keefer. “I appreciated the opportunity to participate in, be challenged by and learn from some of the leading strategic thinkers in the industry. I look forward to using what I learned at CBM and elevating the firm’s record of ongoing client success.”
As part of his leadership training, Keefer helped develop a series of training videos for existing and incoming staff within CBM’s automotive dealership group. The purpose was to educate and refresh the knowledge of team members, thereby also improving efficiencies in learning and performance in dealership engagements. The videos have been added to the firmwide platform of CPE training resources.

Keefer, who was named partner at CBM in July 2021, is a leading provider of tax, audit and regulatory expertise to the firm’s automotive dealership clients. He also performs business valuations for clients in his capacity as a certified valuation analyst.
