Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell (CBM), a full-service accounting and advisory firm with offices in Bethesda, MD and Washington, DC, has moved up on INSIDE Public Accounting’s annual list of top 300 public accounting firms based on revenue and ongoing financial performance. Last year, CBM ranked at #245 of all firms across the country. This year, CBM made a significant jump to #220. INSIDE Public Accounting additionally recognized CBM in its list of Top 300 Fastest-Growing Firms list.

Over the past year and a half, Mr. Reilly has presented on CBM’s history of rapid growth including for such industry groups as AICPA, Upstream Academy, Rainmaker Companies, the National Alliance of Auto Dealer Advisors and the Association for Accounting Marketing.
In recent months, CBM has also taken a leadership role in sharing up-to-date knowledge with the DC-area business community about federal responses to the pandemic including ways to best navigate federal relief programs such as the CARES Act and the Paycheck Protection Program. The firm partnered with the Washington Business Journal during their Small Business, Big Mission feature in late May.
The full financial analysis of 550 public accounting firms, which is organized and administered by the Platt Group, publisher of INSIDE Public Accounting, will appear in a national benchmarking report this September. In addition to compiling the annual list of top accounting firms, the Platt Group also surveys and publishes reports in the areas of human resources, firm administration and information technology at accounting firms.
