Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell (CBM) has been approved as a professional education-based provider of Certified Association Executive (CAE) credit by the American Society of Association Executives, the nation’s leading organization dedicated to association management for both organizations and individual association professionals.
”Delivering professional CAE credit is a logical extension of CBM’s not-for-profit association services,” said Daniel L. Weaver, CPA, executive vice president and chair of CBM’s not-for-profit practice. “For nearly 100 years, our accountants and advisors have supported the financial sustainability of associations as they faithfully serve their members and communities. By offering the CAE credit, we want our clients and the association industry to recognize our firm is a champion for the ongoing development of knowledge of the sector’s accredited executive leaders.”
Currently accredited CAE holders are eligible to receive a number of credits commensurate with “clock time” attendance. For example, participants of a 1-hour course will be eligible for 1 hour of CPE, while participants for a 1.5-hour course are eligible for 1.5 hours of credit. CBM is eligible to deliver up to 8 CAE credits on a daily basis. The program also delivers professional education credit for individuals ultimately seeking to take the CAE accreditation exam.
Eligible programming delivered by CBM will have specific learning objectives and comply with the American Society of Association Executives’ CAE Exam Content outline. CBM educational programs are currently under development and will be announced shortly.
“CBM is proud to offer CAE credit for association executives,” said CBM President and Managing Partner Peter B. Reilly, CPA, CVA, “which allows us to further assist with management and organizational finances that are needed to be successful nonprofit leaders.”
CBM is also a years-long sponsor of the CEO Update LIVE events, an annual breakfast series that brings together leading experts to explore topics of interest to association executives, from leadership issues to executive recruiting to compensation trends.
