Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell (CBM) remains on in the Washington Business Journal’s annual list of Top 25 DC metro-area accounting and advisory firms following the recent publication of top area firms. This is the second consecutive year that CBM, which ranked at #24 for 2019, appeared on the Journal’s list.
“CBM’s presence remains strong,” says Peter B. Reilly, CPA, CVA, president and managing partner of CBM. “Our firm has enjoyed significant growth in recent years due to ongoing client loyalty and satisfaction with our business, and from strategically merging in several smaller practices. Last fall, CBM welcomed the professionals of Chaconas & Wilson, a tax and consulting practice. Not only did this expand the number of team members available to provide personal customer service. It also led to a decision to open a new, expanded office in downtown Washington, DC to serve clients and provide the region with professional education throughout the year.”
On December 1, shortly following the merger with Chaconas & Wilson, CBM’s team of accountants and advisors reached 100 professionals and administrative support members. Thus far in 2019, the firm has hosted three professional education events in financial planning and not-for-profit financial reporting standards in its new DC office, with several others scheduled for the near future.
.“Since CBM was founded in 1921, our reputation has kept clients coming to (and staying with) our firm,” continued Reilly. “Our growing practice and recognition by the Washington Business Journal provides a platform to expand our services further by providing accounting and advisory support to those businesses, individuals and not-for-profit entities that keep the Washington, DC region thriving.”
